Pant and Bumrah Shine in Latest ICC Test Rankings; Root Still on Top

The ICC Test rankings have been updated, reflecting significant changes after recent performances in both Test and T20I cricket. Indian batsman Rishabh Pant and England's Ben Duckett have achieved career-best rankings following their outstanding performances in the first Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at Headingley.

Rishabh Pant has surged to seventh place in the ICC Test batting rankings after scoring centuries in both innings at Headingley. He becomes only the second wicketkeeper in Test history, after Zimbabwe’s Andy Flower in 2001, to achieve this feat. He is also the first Indian wicket-keeper batter to have 800 Rating points in Test History.

Joe Root remains the top-ranked Test batter, closely followed by his compatriot Harry Brook. India’s Shubman Gill has moved up five places to 20th after his century in the first innings.

Jasprit Bumrah, India’s leading fast bowler, maintains his position as the world’s No. 1 Test bowler. He solidified his top spot with another five-wicket haul at Headingley. England's Ben Stokes has climbed three places to reach the No. 5 spot in the Test all-rounder rankings, marking his highest position in recent months.

The T20I rankings also experienced movement following the tri-series in Glasgow, involving the Netherlands, Nepal, and Scotland. Dutch batter Michael Levitt jumped 16 places to 14th after consistent performances, while Scotland’s Brandon McMullen rose 20 spots to be joint 38th.

The ICC rankings continue to serve as a key indicator of individual player performance, shaping the competitive landscape of international cricket.
