As Pant was building momentum, Brook questioned him about his fastest Test century. "What's your fastest hundred?" Brook asked, seemingly trying to goad Pant into reckless shots.

Pant coolly replied, "In Test cricket, maybe 80–90 minutes," referring to the measured pace of his previous centuries.

Brook pressed further, mentioning his own rapid century in the IPL. "The fastest hundred I've hit was in 55 balls—you could do that today," he taunted.

However, Pant remained unperturbed. "It's okay. I'm not too greedy for records. If it happens, it happens," he responded with a smile, effectively dismissing Brook's sledging with quiet confidence.

Pant's crucial innings of 65, delivered in just 58 balls, included eight fours and three sixes, proving vital after his initial score of 25 in the first innings.
